About Us

All About Who we are

We always have a variety of beers available from local breweries and usually have four cask conditioned ales available.

Of course we also serve Lagers, Ciders, Guinness and now a dedicated craft beer pump as well, and of course spirits and a very comprehensive selection of fine wines.

Our bar staff are always helpful and efficient. Please ask if you would like to taste an ale before you buy.

The quality of our food is very important. We always have homemade dishes available and we are well known for our freshly battered cod.

We have a varied menu including fresh fish, steaks, gammons and chicken dishes. All our meat is sourced locally from Somerset farmers.

We always have a selection of specials and of course, traditional Sunday roasts. A children’s menu, sweet menu and speciality ice creams are also available.

The Star Inn is a friendly pub with a welcoming bar, log fire and good food to go with good beer.

In the summer the large beer garden is open and well behaved dogs on a lead are welcome throughout the pub.

The Star Inn was first documented as the Royal Oak in 1794, the first landlord was Josiah Watts 1794 – 1808. Robert Stoate closed and reopened the pub during 1825 as the Star Inn. During it’s history the pub was owned by the Egremont trustees in the 1870’s then the Wyndham Estate in the 1890’s.

The Star Inn is situated next to a babbling brook and you can always hear the sea from the pub.
